Wo we are

The studio

Ten years of asking what a company should sound like before deciding what it should look like.

Years in Practice

The short version

We look for the tone before we look for the logo

Oura opened in 2016 with one conviction — a company that knows what it sounds like will know what it looks like. Naming, strategy and identity all follow from that order of operations, in that order, every time.

How it goes ( for real )

ThreeStages

Listening

01

We interview the people who built the thing, read what customers already say back, and write down the words the company keeps reaching for without noticing.

Framing

02

Findings become a position on one page: what this brand claim, and the vocabulary it will still be using in five years. Nothing gets drawn until that page is signed.

Making

03

Type, colour and mark arrive together as one system, argued against the position rather than a mood board. You leave with the files, the rules and the reasons behind both.

FourVoices

OURA•STUDIO•

Founder, Creative Director

Adrian Sowa

Adrian opened the studio in 2016 and still runs the first interview on every project. He is the one who will tell you, before the invoice, that what you need is a sentence rather than a symbol.

Brand Strategist

Nadia Osei

Nadia writes the one-page position every project is built against. Her research turns what a founder feels about the company into something the whole team can argue with in a meeting.

Verbal Identity

Wren Callahan

Wren handles naming and the voice that follows it, from the trademark search to the sentence a support agent types at eleven at night. Tone, in this studio, is her department.

Design Director

Hugo Marchand

Hugo draws the systems — type, grid, mark, motion — and sets the rules that keep them intact once we hand them over. He has never once been talked into a gradient.
